Jane Dummer received her Bachelors of Applied Science degree from the University of Guelph and completed a Graduate dietetic internship at Hamilton Health Sciences. Jane is an active member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario and Dietitians of Canada. As a leader in the field of nutrition and dietetics, Jane was the district 2 council member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario from 2006 to 2008 and a member of a scientific advisory board for Danone (Canada) from 2004 to 2007.

The three pillars of Jane’s business include Agri-food, Functional Foods and Food Safety. Under each pillar, Jane offers communications, research and program development & facilitation. Jane has led and managed a variety of projects for over 50 organizations including: manufacturers; distributors; foodservice groups; national and provincial food/health associations; corporations and media outlets. Jane implements workplace wellness programs for Canadian corporations to enhance health promotion at the office. Examples of her clients include the Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC), Dare Foods Limited, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Pulse Canada, Turkey Farmers of Ontario, and Toronto Region Research Alliance.

As a food and nutrition media contact, Jane is a columnist for Bakers Journal. Most recently, Jane completed a print and radio campaign for DFC - The Health Benefits of Omega-3 Fatty Acid DHA. As a requested expert speaker, Jane’s presentations are informative, entertaining and well received by the participants. Jane has been quoted for the past ten years in numerous publications including Today’s Parent, MacLean’s, Toronto Star and Chatelaine. Jane has been a media spokesperson for the California Strawberry Commission, Danone, Dietitians of Canada - Nutrition Month, Maple Leaf Foods and Unilever appearing on CTV, CKCO-TV, Rogers, The Weather Channel, CHUM FM, CKGL AM and K-Lite FM.

Jane is member of the Waterloo Wellington Flying Club and a past member of the Kitchener Grand River Rotary Club. Jane’s hobbies include golfing, cycling, hiking, yoga, Pilates and she walks ½ marathons annually.
