Grand River Shows is seeking energetic, fun-loving volunteers who are looking for some experience in the event industry, to meet new people or have a great time. We are looking for talented volunteers to help out with the following:

Set-up (This position may require heavy lifting)
Prior to Show - Get behind the scenes!
Responsibilities include: Unloading, decorating staging, seating, signage, entrance set-up, floor plans, ballots & goodie bags.

Registration Desk (During set up only)
Meet the exhibitors in the show!
Responsibilities include: Welcome exhibitors and direct them to their booth location and answer questions.

Greeter
Welcome visitors to the show!
Responsibilities include: Distribute floor plans and contest ballots. Explain ballot box and goodie bag locations and answer visitors' questions.

Cashier (Previous cash register experience is required)
You are the first to welcome our visitors!
Responsibilities include: Collect tickets and entrance fees from visitors using a cash register.

Surveyor
Research is important to us! Each year we ask visitors for their thoughts to help us improve our shows.
Responsibilities include: Approach visitors about their experience at the show and obtain their feedback.

Floater
Help out in almost every volunteer role!
Responsibilities include: Provide break and lunch opportunities for volunteers.

Stage Technical Support
Testing, Testing, 1..2..3…
Responsibilities include: Manage sound systems and assist presenters/speakers.

Stage Supervisor
Our seminars are highly anticipated by our visitors. We want to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Responsibilities include: Help presenters and stage hosts with whatever they need to make their experience memorable. Observe each segment offered on stage and make notes for future reference.

Sponsor’s Assistant
Sponsors are essential to our success and bring a unique dynamic to each of our shows. We want to make sure they enjoy their experience!
Responsibilities include: Provide client services to sponsors. This can include getting water, food, answering questions, supervising their booths for breaks and lunches and more!

Volunteer Manager (Previous volunteer experience is preferred)
Keeping volunteers happy is a main priority. We want to ensure their needs are met.
Responsibilities include: Ensure all volunteers: receive training; sign in and out for each shift; are at their designated location and receive breaks and lunches as required; are presented with a thank you gift at the end of their shift.

Security
A key element of the show!
Responsibilities include: Provide security during set up and tear down times and show hours. Manage the entrances to ensure only exhibitors use loading doorways, prevent trespassing by the public, ensure exits are closed and clear of clutter, answer questions.

Tear Down (closing night only; this position may require heavy lifting)
Reminisce and laugh with fellow volunteers while we tear it all down!
Responsibilities include: Remove signage, chair covers & front entrance, pack up supplies and load boxes into trucks for transport and more!
